Leaver form submissions

To avoid delays in processing retirements, please submit leaver forms on the UPM employer portal at least 30 days before the member’s retirement date. If it helps, you can use an estimate of the final pay figures when completing the form.

UPM employer portal – key updates

Previous

Leaver Form updates

We have introduced data validation checks which are done before you submit the leaver form – this will improve data quality and reduce processing delays caused by errors.

Automated notifications

Started to receive automated email notifications whenever there’s outstanding queries on a data return.

Real-time quotes

Functionality introduced so real-time quotes can be run for redundancy, tier 3 ill health and retirement.

Multiple features

New features included the ability to view all submitted forms, a monthly returns error report, and real time quotes for tier 1 and tier 2 ill health retirement.

Reassigning & training

Added the ability to select and reassign multiple items in the Work Feed and reassign them in one go, and a tile to access training material.

UPM employer portal

  • You can use the employee’s payroll number when undertaking a member search.
  • You can reassign a process that you have started to another employer portal user within your organisation.
  • You can ‘filter’ and ‘sort’ via buttons in your work feed.

Coming soon

Uploading monthly data returns
  • Removing the pre-population of the ‘Pay Frequency’ and ‘First Date of Pay Period’ fields – to avoid incorrect details being submitted.
  • A message appearing to let you know that we’ll be checking the file to ensure everything is in the correct format (when you click to submit it) – to keep you updated.
  • Bypassing the Stage 2 (Data Correction stage) to go straight to Stage 3 (if there are no errors) – to speed up the submission process.
  • Reducing the number of times you have to confirm remittance advice has been validated – to speed up to the process.
  • Option to roll back and resubmit the data at all stages – to speed up the process.
Portal update benefits
  1. 1. Immediate error detection
You will be instantly alerted on any data errors such as missing fields and incorrect formats, allowing you to correct them before (not after) you submit your data returns.
  2. 2. Improved data quality
Catching any errors early will help ensure any data you submit is accurate and complete, reducing the need for it to be corrected.
  3. 3. Faster processing
Validated data can be processed quicker, reducing delays and leading to a faster and easier journey for you.
  4. 4. Reduced support queries
With fewer submission errors, you are less likely to receive (and have to respond to) multiple queries.
  5. 5. Enhanced compliance
Real-time checks can support regulatory requirements, helping you to stay compliant.

New leaver form lanched

LPPA has launched a new and improved leaver form with smarter features to make things easier for you when submitting leaver information. Here’s how…

Simpler format

There are fewer fields to complete as you no longer need to provide certain information, such as data that’s already been captured in your monthly return.

Instant checks

The form now instantly flags any errors during a backend data check; this gives you the chance to correct them right away before submitting.

Quicker process

Validating more data before it’s submitted will reduce the time it takes to process the form and make any payments to members.

Queries reduced

Speeding up the process of paying members will reduce queries, such as from members (and LPPA) chasing you for updates.

Common leaver questions
