‘Face forward and pay your pension some attention’ – that’s the message of this year’s Pension Attention Campaign, which launches on Friday, 6 September 2024.
Pension Attention, which LPPA is proud to support, is an annual coordinated industry campaign that runs from 6 September to 8 November. Led by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA), it aims to boost pensions awareness by inspiring the nation to engage with their pension.
Three simple steps
This year’s theme is to ‘face forward for the future you’. Themed around a pot of face cream, the campaign says: ‘We’re all getting older, so it’s time to think about the most important pot for your future self. Your pension pot.’
The campaign explains that you can do this by following three simple steps (which we know a little about too).
- Find out if you have any lost pension pot savings. Visit the Looking for a Lost Pension page on our website to get started.
- Log in to your pension accounts to get an estimate of your retirement income. You can check these details by using the online calculators (or viewing your latest annual benefit statement) in PensionPoint (your secure online pension portal).
- Picture your future self and how much you’ll need for your retirement. In case you missed it, our Life is for Living campaign provided some useful insights by asking people to send in words and pictures that summed up their idea of retirement and what it meant to them.
The Pension Attention campaign has been endorsed by a big celebrity ambassador over the last few years – grime artist, Big Zuu, in 2022 and children’s TV entertainer, Timmy Mallet, in 2023. This year’s celebrity, which was a closely guarded secret, has now been revealed to be TV reality personality Gemma Collins. She can be seen promoting the importance of your ‘pension pot’ in a parody face cream TV advert.
